Has anyone used Shop Factory Developer 6?

    Hi folks,

what a wealth of information at this forum.

I came across a product "Shop Factory Developer 6" and was wondering if anyone has used this product before?

I watched the tutorial and was amazed. If anyone can offer some pro's and cons it would be appreciated. I was going to post the link but didn't know it was against TOS.

Thanks very much for any advice.

No, I never heard of it. Please don't post a link to it, as the site that returned when I searched on it, attempted to DL an activeX program, which my browser blocked.

No problem! I didn't because I was unsure. I figure it's better to find out first.

I didn't notice it the first time. I checked my log in one of my programs and sure enough it blocked it. Thanks for pointing that out.

Yeah be careful with them. They seem a little dodgy to me.

Ya, it's hard to give up that kind of money with out doing research.

I clicked on the live chat and it said it wasn't available, to try back again.

I sent them an email with a bunch of questions. We will see how prompt they are and if they answer all the questions. I will let you know what happens.

I'm so pleased that I found this forum!

    Question about ActiveX

I have my browser set to prompt on ActiveX. I know that it's a good security practice, but could someone elaborate a bit on why it's a good security practice - especially with legitimate e-commerce sites. And, what other options do these sites have for delivering whatever it is they are using ActiveX for.

    Thanks!

Well because there are many sites, even ones you might not suspect, that go ahead and DL activeX programs onto your machine without your knowledge or approval. Even yahoo used to, dunno if they still do. ActiveX programs can cause to to get popups even when you browser isn't open, and they can do far more malicious things if that's what they're programmed to to. They're programs being installed on your PC. I wouldn't want ANY of that going on without my knowledge and approval.
