need advice
i am about to start a smale two person company and i was wondering what is the best software to keep track of everything. I don't want to have to pay too much money for this software. What software would you recommend? I probably shouldn't need anything too fancy since it will be a relatively small business. Thank you for your help

I would start w/ choosing your ecommerce shopping cart software (if needed), from there choose a compatible order management software/account software that will work nicely w/ your ecommerce shopping cart.
Are you going to use a shopping cart?

Starting a new company with 2 users and looking for a software which integrates all your departments and yet allow you to scale as your business grows and still be within your budget ......
Hmm sounds familiar to me and I recommened "Interprise Suite" all in one software for small business http://www.InterpriseSuite.com the reason I recommended this is coz they have 3 user license free and has integrated modules to run your business ... chk them out

InfoSourcing,
You continually suggest that people use Interprise Suite, without mentioning its availability. It is not currently available, and it seems that it may not be available for upwards of 6 months (if at all). You should probably include this information when suggesting the software.

My 2 cents of info
Hi NobelNull,
You maybe right, I never mentioned this on forum, coz it was never asked by any customers, but since you raised that topic I would like to answer with some tentative dates regd Interprise Suite that I recd from them.
1. Beta release is ending shortly and beta users are seeing considerable stability in the product
2. Release Candidate is scheduled for June, 2006
3. Full release is scheduled for end of this summer, 2006
4. Developer/Reseller conference scheduled for Aug 21st, 2006
5. E-commerce Integration with ASPDotNetStorefront in last stages as I see some of the screenshots that I could share with you all

6. Advanced version to be released by end of this year, 2006
Note: All dates are tentaive and could change, pls contact the software vendor for final dates.
Regd, why I suggest this software to business owners is coz, it is in beta and the best time to buy any product is when it is in beta stage, you can see how it is growing and take advantage of price and best of all you could add in couple of features here and there that is required for your industry. I also warn that any software in beta will not be feature rich/stable/in-depth but over time it becomes great and you feel part of it.
Nobody, can be sure of software release dates, even Microsoft for that matter, Vista release dates was pushed from this year to 2007, so I try to stay away things that are not under my control (I can always take horses nearer to water, but can't make them to drink ... )
Few customers feel comfortable to call and chit-chat and based on their requirements and budget I recommend them diff softwares that I'm aware of, not that I make money here, I do it coz I have been in ERP/Enterprise space for last 7 yrs and my 2 cents can help business owner somewhere....
I won't be able to include all information here but strongly recommend business owners to check the respective software vendors website and talk to their sales dept for further information, we just provide custom solution, integration and implementation services if customers need it ...
Thanks NobelNull for raising a good point here ...

Just my opinion, but I'd atleast want the product released before putting up any cash. Become a beta tester if you can to check out the product, but I don't think its the best time to buy a product. If the product is never released, you'd end up SOL.

Hi noblenull,
There is no charge to join the Interprise Suite beta program and the 3 user version of the application is free.

Gary,
I understand that the Beta is free, and think that is a great way to get to know your product. I was just responding to InfoSourcing who said "it is in beta and the best time to buy any product is when it is in beta stage". I was disagreeing with this statement about buying a product that is in beta stage.

Hi noblenull,
I understand your point. I previously worked for a company that offered a free upgrade to their new product if you buy their old product. When the new product got delayed by a year they had a lot of unhappy customers and refused to issues refunds for those hurt by the delay.
Personally I do not feel comfortable selling a program while it is in beta. Often during development you may find bottlenecks in your application that can cause problems further down the road. Most software companies release the crippled product anyway thinking they can fix the problems in version 2.0. Since we did not sell any copies of Interprise Suite while it is in beta, our approach was to delay the release and get it right the first time. Ultimately this will give our users a much more pleasant experience.
I think InfoSourcing point was that while a program is in beta it is easier to get the company to add a feature or two you really need.
Sincerely,
Gary
