    Search Engine Awareness

    Hello,

I was wondering about the process of link exchange and SEO. I've heard Google will penalize site owners for spammy irrelevant link exchanges. I know their is no benefit to huge link farms of irrelevant links in terms of targeted advertising, but does Google actually reduce your exposures if a site does reckless linking?

    Thank you.

    Quan,

Google's new update, known as Jagger, does indeed attempt to weed out irrelavent links and the sites that have them. I have an article about it. Let me see if I can find it and give you a link to it.

I also have another question regarding link exchange. I used to do link exchange for my previous domain (Quantecsoftware.com). Now I'm doing it for my new domain(yourecommerce.com). I had at least 5 quality links located at the previous domain (Quantec) and when you click on it, it redirects to my newest domain (Your-e) which is great since I want all my clicks to be on my new domain. However, does all my old links count as links for Quantec or Your-e? Do I have to go back and ask everyone to redirect their links?

it depends what type of redirect you are using. permenant 301 redirects are well recieved by SE's but temp 302's are seen as not so good

I don't think you will get banned from using irrelevant link exchanges and things similar to this, but I have heard that they will peneilize you so you will be doing more damage than good.

Bad links mean big trouble with rankings. Link farms, etc are bad, bad, news!

I do have secrets on this one. You don't get all of them for free, "sorry" I will say that there are easy healthy links to get and they are not as hard as link exchanges. You probably read some posts on articles and getting links those can work too.

Last week I started a new site, this week it has absolutely TOP link popularity!!! It's off the charts. Did I mention that There is hardly anything on the pages yet? It is indexed in Yahoo. That took less than a week.

    Like I said...I have secrets....

    hi,

irrelevant links mean to invite big trouble for your site. google has devalued the back links and link exchange consists of no value at all. yes you have rightly written google will reduce your exposure and for these link exchange your site may turn to be a spammy site
