Need Input on new website - www.pacificartisans.net
Please take some time and look at the demo (non-live, non-commerce
enabled)site - www.pacificartisans.net. I will launch the fully
enabled site in January.
I am trying to create an interactive Community where Artists can
present themselves in a personal way and Consumers can learn
about/talk to Artists in a direct way. Each Artist will be given their
own Forum and Audio section, in addition to text based background/bio
and philosophy.
As Pacificartisans.net is truly a Community, I am asking everyone to
please visit the URL and give me feedback on what is good, what is
bad, what should be deleted and what should be added.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

While I did not click every link or even vist every page, I like the look. Your navigation seems clear enough and easy to find the buttons, etc. Have you considered links to other artists, art communities, consortiums? Relevent links can make or break you. Especially in the begining.
You are going to add more products before you go live, right? I think what you have is very good, but not enough of it.
Keep up the good work.

The mouseovers for your links have a delay. Even before checking the source code I knew it was a dreamweaver site. Outside of that, it's not bad, visually. If you want to get rid of the delay, you could learn a small amount of javascript. DW does a poor job of scripting.

You have a very clean layout and your navigation is straightforward. Both of these are very good things.
Here's a couple of thoughts:
- Most of your pages do not have titles; they say "untitled document". You should be sure to add "Pacific Artisans" and a relevant description for each page to the titles. This is a little item that can have a big influence on your search engine ranking. It also looks better to the user.
- Your page code is missing the "keyword" and "description" meta tags, which will also influence your search engine rankings and what text the user will see in the search engine results.
- The "Our Artisans" page has a bunch of duplicate entries.
- Some of your product pages lack a description and have placeholder text.
- Your shopping cart apparently hasn't been implemented yet, so I would suggest not showing the "Buy Now" or "Add to Cart" buttons until the cart is operational.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Good luck!
