    Web-site Revamp

    Hi guys,
This is my first post to this forum so first thing sfirst "hello".
I am part of a group of 4 guys who have invented a really unique piece of sports equipment....
I am now looking to launch it in an E-commerce style however since the website was created i know it neesd some changes.

Can you guys give it the once over and dish out some pointers before i convert it from flash into HTML (if anyone knows an easy way that would be handy).

I am looking at getting an e-commerce company to do SEO stuff, i have heard some bad press about this so any recomendtaions would be appreciated, as word of mouth is always the best way.

    here is the site:

    ALL feedback appreciated.

    Regards

Well it's a very visually impressive site, but with an all flash website you won't get any organic search engine rankings. Their spiders don't do flash. One thing you can do is duplicate the entire navigation in HTML, then hide it with CSS. Humans won't know it's there at all, but the bots will. They'll crawl it and you'll get ranked.

    Matt:

I agree with JPnyc on both counts. Your site is very stunning, easy to navigate, and easy to read. The biggest drawback is that Flash is not search engine friendly and when spiders hit an all Flash site they basically bounce right off. I'd personally take JPnyc's suggestion one step further and create an all-HTML version of your site which mirrors all of content in your flash site. Just be sure to create a textual hyperlink the the HTML site instead of embedding it in the Flash.

I agree about the flash. I disagree just a bit with the ease of navigation. Where do I buy your product? Do I e-mail you, call you on the phone?

You need a shopping cart and checkout. If you have them, you need to make them easier to find.

    Very nice overall look, however.

    Guys,
    Great feedback many thanks,
I am in the process of addresing the shopping cart issue as this is a major drawback.
Can you recomened any people/companies that you know are reputable who could carry out the HTML side of things ???
As i said at the start i will need to pay someone anyway so i would prefer a recomendation.
    Once again
    Thanks, much appreciated.

I would post the project on dice.com. You'll get several coders bidding on the job. That pretty much assures a decent price because they're competing with each other for the work.

A site done completely in flash is a design no-no. I would use flash sparingly, and only when necessary. If you look at the most visited sites online, they don't use flash do build their whole site.

In due time, maybe, but at the moment, SE spiders don't crawl flash sites.
