Fine Art Gallery - Question and Review
Hi,
We recently launched a site for a sculptress in Israel. The sculptress is truely a unique individual and her works are quite amazing. The site is www.razia-bronze.com.
My question is first, since the works sold are high ticket items we never included buying capabilities, feeling that each client will require personal attention. Would you suggest adding a buying option to the site ?
Second, I would really appreciate reviews and feedback on the site. It's a project we really enjoy and would love to do more of these.
Thank you,
Eyal

If they're truly high-ticket items then just having a contact number is probably best. I somehow doubt that art collectors will be purchasing via a standard internet shopping cart, and in fact it could adversely affect the site. You might not be taken as seriously. It's a nice looking site by the way

My suggestions
Hi,
Good website, anytime you have a website that should potential reflect some revenue coming direct or indirect
So keeping that in mind I would suggest you to have a "Ask for Quote" instead of a Buy now button since your items are high value. Also have some customer testimonals for each product/category and some pictures from customers who have purchased it and have used it, adds value to your products.
In Ask for a Quote, make sure to capture some information regd them, some demographic questions and then get back to them via email/phone makes them feel warm abt your customer service.
Never let a lead pass by in front of you....

I agree with the prior posts that facilitating personal contact is most likely the best way to go. I like the "Request a Quote" idea and would emphasize that with a strong Call to Action. Including a phone number would also be advisable.

Nice site. Here's are my recommendations based upon what I experienced:
1. On the opening page: "Razia Gershon born in Israel," needs a comma after Gershon in my opinion.
2. On the Collections page: the images switch too quickly for me...you might consider adding another 2 seconds of delay.
3. The links do not all turn blue and underline when moused over.
That's about it...I couldn't find much wrong at all...nice work.

Lovely site. Very clean and easy to navigate. Wouldn't change a thing. I posted in the poll that I WOULD include the option to pay on-line, but seeing the site and the product, it's probably not a good idea because as someone suggested above it could be seen as cheesy / lowball.
