    wireless tech in laptop

My small business is buying new laptops. I can't figure out if i need to buy the wireless net card, wireless broadband router and wireless net installation. We have no wireless net in our small town, but will soon. Can these options be added later, or do i not understand this at all. Any help would be appreciated.

    Smile wireless tech

Depends on what you're looking to accomplish. If you are looking to install and maintain a wireless network in your business, you'll need the wireless router to interface with your cable/DSL modem, plus each laptop will need a wireless inetrface card, or you can look for notebooks that are labeled "Centrino"; the Centrino notebooks have 802.11B wireless capabilities built in. If you are looking to make use of the local wireless around town, you'll want to find out what spec is being used: 802.11A, 802.11B, or 802.11G. There are also various combinations of these three, but the G is what you should be lookiing for for best performance. Wireless cards come in different spec, too; the card and the wireless protocol being used have to be the same, or they don't talk at all. there are wireless security issues that you want to keep in mind, too, when planning something like this. Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

I would not advise using a wireless setup
But, if you find it a necessity that you need to have, you will end up spending way more money for a relatively lesser performance but easier access. I would advise you to linksys :
    Router:
    Linksys Router BEFW11S4
    Wireless card (PCMCIA):
    Linksys WPC11

hope this helps, you can go for a cheaper generic or D-Link version.
