Is it possible that a pdf file could contain a virus?

    HI Members,

I have always thought that only files that end with .exe or etc can cause damage to computers. Are viruses limited to only these types of files are can files like picture .jpeg .png .pdf also do harm?

    Thanks and Regards,

    Thumbs up Hello

Yes, It is possible to put a virus on a PDF, although it will only affect your computer if you open it using Adobe Acrobat. It has no effect if it is opened with the Adobe's free program Adobe Reader. The virus is very rare and it is very hard to make.
