E-commerce shop plugin wont work with WP - HELP PLEASE!!!

    Hi Everyone,

I had a website set up for my business, and it was all going pretty well. Just needed to work on the layout of one page (yet to find a developer/designer to do this for me) and tweak colours and other little things, and it's all good. I was set up with my website using Wordpress (if this isn't the best program to use I wouldn't know - I trusted a designer to set it up for me and that what I ended up with)...

I had all my products that I stock put into the database (I believe it is an E-Commerce plugin) and when I updated the Wordpress to 3.8.9 (thinking that was the correct thing to do) it's not compatible and my shop didn't link up to my website. I deleted all the items and tried other plug-ins but they change the format of my webpage too much and so for that reason I need to stay with E-commerce. That and it look me a long time to understand how to do the links and everything and I am finding it really challenging to find another program that does what I want.

That and I have stuffed how good the home page looked so now I have to find someone to undo my mess, when this was all meant to be easy and straightforward. I have spent more than I can afford already and it's really stressing me out - I'm sitting here crying after trying to fix this for 6 hours now...

I'm so unhappy it didn't work and I can't fix it.

This is what it says at the top of my WP dashboard - You are currently using WP e-Commerce 3.8.9. There have been major changes in WP e-Commerce 3.8.9, so backward-compatibility with existing plugins might not always be guaranteed. If you are unsure, please roll back to 3.8.8.5, and set up a test site with 3.8.9 to make sure WP e-Commerce 3.8.9 is compatible with your existing themes and plugins. If you find any incompatibility issues, please report them to us as well as the other plugins or themes' developers.

I sent a report to them but now have to wait until I hear back - which I don't think I will. I think my issue will just be one of the quirks that they will fix for future versions, which does nothing for me now.

I don't know how to roll back to an earlier version of the website.
What do I do? I spoke to one person who did my friends website and he want to use Joomla and when I spoke to him he doesn't understand why I need it to stay in the EXACT layout I have at the moment, which he can't do with Joomla he said, without it costing a lot. I already paid over $2000 for what I have and I just need it to work.

I am a single Mum with 3 kids and I need to get it working because every day is costing me money!!!

    Any suggestions?

    Hello Friends,

I had a similar problem with my install. WP eCommerce would mess up when it was trying to write to my MySQL database. I went into phpMyAdmin, found the entry "wp_product_list" and deleted all of the messed up entries.
I went back into WP eCommerce and voila! Everything worked pretty well (until the next problem).
One thing that can really help is to provide your wordpress install with the full path to your "Uploads" folder. There is a post on the instinct forums about problems with uploading product images because of this.

    Thanks and Regards,

I would suggest either you shift your platform to magento or contact some e-commerce developers who are experts in solving these kind of issues.
