Oye vey, rate this site.... I mean help this site!

Web design isn't exactly my strong suit, so I would appreciate some advice on how to improve this website. I'm looking to keep the style, but just smooth it over and polish it off. The retouchers can glam a photo, but can't glam a website.

I don't think that's so bad. IN fact, I think it's quite good. Cut yourself a break, you're not a bad designer at all.

Well you could add a hover state to the links, just some kind of change when moused-over, and maybe the text could be larger on the opening page, but personally I've built worse looking sites than that, and I'm employed at this.

I think it is a very well put together site. I agree it could use a bit of hover to add a bit of a 3-dimensional look and feel, but overall the content is good as are the service descriptions. That is my overall impression, but I will leave you with a few additional comments on specific things.

On the gallery page -- I think that page would look so much nicer if the thumbnails were actually the same size, or broken down into same size square images in one row, with same size rectangular images in another row. I think that would add a much neater overall look to your gallery.

The ship example on this page really shows the possibilities, and you should consider putting this type of before and after imagery on your main index page. The text wording on your index page is great, but a photo representing the services you provide would really add a nice touch, especially where this is, in most cases the "introduction" to what you can do.

I'm not sure why you chose to capitalize "Photo Shop" in the middle of a sentence on the "About" page, unless you wanted to make reference to a well-known software product which people could buy instead of using you for the service (to me that stood out like a sore thumb).

When you visit the "About" page, you now get the links to your services "Enhancement, Modification, Retouching, Restoration". I'm not so sure I would think of visiting an "about us" page to find out what services you offer. Since the services are so important, I would consider having it added as a button link off the main page, or even separate your gallery photos into those types of service jobs.

I also noticed 4 hyperlinks on the main page which I expected to take me to other parts of your Web site - oh wait - never mind, that is evil underlined text that I am wasting my time mousing over trying to click on.....

Good luck with your Web site and business. So many people pay a fortune at brand name camera and photo stores on having these services done, that I think your pricing and services will serve a need.

I like the site design. Some ideas….

Very important, get rid of the frames! Frames are bad. Biggest problem with them is that no one will be able to bookmark any page of your site besides for the home page. Frames will also confuse search engines and your site will be indexed incorrectly.

If you want to have a constant header or footer without using frames you will need to learn how to build a dynamic site. Your site is not that big so you may want to consider just creating a static site and copying the header and footer over and over again on each page.

How about on the home page having a photo restoration example along with some quick text. A quick glance of an example will let your visitors know what your site is about in a split second.

You have many pages of just text. On these pages some stock photography could bring them to life. Stock photography goes for about a dollar an image online.

Some of your text that is contained inside of boxes is to close to the edge of the box. Add some padding to these boxes to prevent this problem.

Your support form page could look more like the rest of your site.
