PR is not a myth. It's very real. However, very much of what you hear about PR is not necessarily true. For instance, an increase in PR will not necessarily increase your traffic, nor will PR contribute much at all toward higer SERPs.

As far as i am getting the right amount of traffic on my website i am not bothered about the PR status of my website but its good to bee seen on the top search results from Google.Also if PR is high you will get more traffic.

Google page rank only shows you on the top of its page so that you can be searched and find easily,but its the services you provide and the content that helps you get ranked among the onlookers.
