    selling online

um.........i think you can try www.craigslist.com and www.buybuybuy.com

both sites have lower operating cost for you. So it is more saving for you. And they have easier rules to follow and i heard Bbb has a very strict rating for its buyers.

if you don't have the time and effort to do marketing, then listing on ecommerce site is a good idea. b/c it is hard to dedicate all the time to marketing, inventory management, and customer services.

    Good luck!

    If you're looking for a free, all-in-one solution for digital e-commerce, I'd suggest babolog.com

They provide you with free access to their marketplace, a free domain, free storage for your products, statistics, an affiliate system, and the platform is free.

For me having your own site is much more better. You be your own boss, you can do what you want with the store and the product without someone always peeking at your back. And best of all, you have no one to share with the revenue.

    My personal opinion...

The internet can be very fickle. If Ebay works, keep using it.

I have had websites and all sorts and nothing worked.

Yellow pages gets me occasional phonecalls but none worth mentioning these days.

One thing I have just tried which looks very promising is an illuminated LED sign in the back of my vehicle and a QR sign on the back of my vehicle. The QR directs people to my website via a redirect (so if I want I can change website). It also allows me to count how many people scan my QR code.

Given that I am supplying counter-surveillance and surveillance equipment, I don't need to broadcast what I do in plain language.

    Dear Mr. Nachousa,

There is no question of doubt whether EBay is a good ecommerce website. It is definitely good but there are companies which provide even better ecommerce services and solutions for your website. There is a company named Niche Suite Technologies which gives you the best services for your ecommerce website. If you already have a website, just approach them, they have several techniques to bring maximum revenue through ecommerce. Have a look at their website.

We have just built an application in Facebook to compete with eBay but also offer small businesses the chance to list all their inventory..

Facebook members themselves become your salesforce and your customers, it's pretty unique, we have only been live a few days and products are moving and the membership is growing..

If you would like the link please PM me, we have only been

So if you are just starting out what is the best route? Ebay? Making my own website? The ladder seems so intimidating but the first just seems impossible to sell on with all the other people selling items at costs that I could never compete with.

This is where you don't waste your time. Somebody will always be willing to offer things for less.

If I put a pair of shoes on sale today, tomorrow somebody will sell the same pair for half then the day after, half again. Soon they'll be selling for 10% of the purchase cost to me. This is folly. Never compete on price - you will always lose.

Compete instead on service. Offer to lick their shoes clean every time they come to visit you. They're never going to take you up on the offer but it'll grab their attention. Sell on great service and things other people don't offer.

Is ebay personal enough for that though? My ultimate goal is an online store so should I put all my efforts towards that, or should I start off on eBay or othr auction sites?

    Hello,

I think having your own e-commerce is best option in any regard however you will have to advertise your site so that people get familiar to it and also in start you can put certain deals or schemes on your site to make it famous. In this you will get more success then you have had on Ebay ;-)

It really depends on your needs

In my opinion it all depends on the possibilities you have and the flexibility you need, if your e-commerce is SEO friendly and well-managed and you pay attention to marketing, including social media, then it's always good to have a place of one's own.

In general I believe it's also depending on the products you are selling.

Anyhow, if you are successful on e-bay, I wouldn't change that.

eCommerce is the best option. Ebay in not good and it it is better having your own online website and a store which cant be interfered by anyone.

    Thanks
