I've found the most successful to be press releases personally, i've got over 100 visits to a forum in about 4 days (it was a forum for joomla based small businesses, not big news). 100 hits isn't heaps but it wasn't major news, . If you have some juciy news the major news networks pick it up and you'll have thousands of hits within hours. i've heard seos say they got 15 sales within 2 hours of releasing a press release.
Could you please tell where have you submitted your press releases?
Was it paid or free resource?
How many press releases did you submit?
