    First iteration of my site

    Hello,

I wanted to ask your opinion about my site. I want to achieve something where a visitor after comes to my site, will be compelled to hire me. I realize there are sites built with flash and silverlight but I don't think in the software industry it is so important to have such site. So correct me if I'm wrong.

I've read feedbacks on other people request and I see how the game is played. If you do take your time to visit my site, which I greatly appreciate, I would like a constructive feedback - so if you're incapable of that, have nice day!

    Thanks,

    PD

Well my first comment is it took forever to load. I don't know where your server is in relation to me, but it was a good 20 seconds. Also, it may be the narrowest webpage I've seen. It literally looks lost on my screen.

I agree with Joe. You need to take up more real estate. I can hardly read it.

I designed to comply with 800x600 resolution in mind. So what is the standard nowdays?

Minimum resolution you need to be concerned with these days is 1024 by 768. 800 by 600 is pretty much a thing of the past, and I think that site would be narrow even at that resolution.

No matter what resolution you design for, your table width is only 594px. And you could increase that to at least 800px.

Your site should be designed using css and not tables.

Another thing you want to do is let people know how to contact you. Just having an e-mail template is not enough. I want to know where the person I am dealing with IS and how I can contact them directly.

Also, I know that it is the accepted method of writing this sort of thing - but writing your "about us" page in the third person is kind of creepy.
