The purpose of the keywords is for search engine optimization. You want to choose keywords that the reader might search for when looking for information that your content contains. For the search engines to properly rank your content for relevance, you need to place the proper keywords in there. Ultimately, the goal is to have the reader find your content as it relates to what they are searching for and then benefit from the content.

i think, its better to use 1-2 keywords which have good search volume and drives traffic to the website, build a rich content for the home page.

For the remaining keywords, try to add some more pages which describes your product or services with those keywords ( advantage of doing so is to increase the website size and get targeted visitors for that particular product.)

I would advocate applying your keywords 2-4 times per page, since any more would be regarded spamming.

The succeeder or loser of your search engine optimization (SEO) efforts looks largely on the steps you take to optimize your website as well as give links to it.

That depends entirely on how much text you have on the page. 2 to 4 keywords out of 300 total words is not nearly enough.

Optimize every page according to keywords & products. This way you can easily mark ranking over search engines.
