Magento or osCommerce

For the longest time, I am thinking which is better: Magento or osCommerce?

I am pleased with the performance of Magento because there's so much you can do with it. I am also into osCommerce because of some very important reasons such as ease of editing the codes.

I have been checking out shopping cart templates that are made from both Magento and osCommerce and I can't seem to spot the difference.

Please note that I am not a guru in web developing and I an amateur shop owner.

Its probably a toss-up and the deciding factor would be features specific to your business. The both do the job well. Coming from a server management perspective I like osCommerce better.
