    Article submission

    Hello,

If you use and article submitter, will the search engines penalize your site for it. Will it hurt your rankings?

    Thanks,

Most of the article sites where using Captcha image control so using automatic submitter, those will be left out.
Anyway, only few of those article directories where useful so here is the list I tested out - http://veikoh.wordpress.com/2007/06/...-does-it-work/

About your questions, I am not sure what you are asking.

    Can you be more specific?

    Always be use manual submissions.
If you do automate submitters, there are many chances of being denied the articles in directory.
    So go for manual one.

    Hi Hector,

My suggestion is to manually submit your best articles to the directories. Furthermore the articles you submit should be unique and not already on your blog or website as you can potentially get penalized for having duplicate content.

I have tried automatic article submissions and they don't seem to work for me as it rules change on the major article directories. So a majority of the software sold don't seem to work.

Best thing to do is to spend time writing good articles and submit them manually making sure the article is unique!

You write an article and send it to a submission service. They in turn send it out to hundreds, if not thousands of article directories and services. You can also buy software that does the same thing for you without going to a separate service.

Of course, the idea is to get you article, and the links therein, on as many sites and computer screens, and picked up and followed by as many SE bots as possible. However, there's a lot to be said about quality over quantity. Submitting to a few GOOD article directories is better than submitting to a thousand POOR ones.

A lot of them simply crawl the good directories and duplicate the articles on their own sites anyway.

I would say submitting the articles manually is the best option as it gives you more options to choose a niche to submit the articles. and submitting to quality directories is always good rather than doing it to all the poor directories. All the best

I always submitt the articles manually myself. Allocate couple of hourse every week or month depending on how much contents you have to article submission, this way you dont risk being penalized.
    Good luck:-)

First of all Article Submitter software does not work properly and there are lots of issues with the article spinning technique used to rephrase article to avoid getting penalized for duplicate contents. This may result in grammatical mistakes or irrelevant changes due to which your article might get rejected.

Article submission to mass quantities of these low value article directories is a horrible idea. It creates massive duplicate content issues and very low link building value.

Write really high quality articles, mix up the copy and anchor text for the author bio in each directory submission and only submit to just a few (2-4) of the most relevant directories for the article topic.

Trying to have these articles rewritten and regenerated with software simply spews out unreadable crap that humans won't get any value from. That's also a bad idea.

A lot of the inferior article directories simply crawl the good directories and duplicate the articles on their own, often inferior, sites anyway. Once you put an article on the web, you really have very little control over what happens to it or where it might pop up.

Which is the very reason you need to start with just a couple of the highest quality directories for submission. The rest of these crap article directories get largely ignored by the engines anyway.
