Thinking about e-com bizz but not so sure.
Technically, I have all the tools to start my e-commerce business. Using my professional experience, I now have the servers, database and website ready. My primary business was planned to be retail computer and electronic products and components.
My problem is dealing with the business end. You see, I'm not so sure how I will be received by the vendors and the wholesalers. I still need to raise a lot of capital and I'm not sure what suppliers attitudes are concerning the "Johny Come Lately". What do I need to do as a startup to make my business attractive to these guys. Or am I just beeing a worry wort.

They wount care in the least really... If your sales volume goes up you'll make them happy! If you don't sell an item then so be it.
The only person your going to help in the long run is yourself. By either doing it or not doing it.
What I'm wondering is why you said:
My primary business was planned to be retail computer and electronic products and components.
Are you not doing this anymore? Or just online? I would think you would be best off doing both, incase you build your site and no one comes.

I have hosted my site on http://b2bparadise.com, our site uses only a fraction of the features they offer, it is a complete e-commerce solution that has a catalog management section (didn;t found this on most ecommerce solutions). I have built my store up and ready in just 2 hours with about 200 items. I didn't required any html, ftp, webdesigning or any other tech know how. Just entered my categories, items, prices and upload images through their interface. Shipping Charge calculation, Sales Tax Calculation, Image Resizing, Reports on Orders received, coupons etc. were the built in features with them
They are charging $24.99 per month alongwith the hosting. Definitely worth a try when you are planning to strat up the business.
