This is too general a question. My best advice is to look for something that:

1. You are passionate about because you will be spending a lot of time with it.
2. You can get resources for. In other words who will your suppliers be.
3. How will you sell? What shopping cart system will you use.

There is no fast rule on what to offer for sale online, if that is the question you are asking. You can check online for the top things that people buy online that should give you an idea of what to offer.

Yes I would agree, find something you are interested in then build a business around that. What are your hobbies, what do you find interesting that you would like to know more about?

Next do allot of research to find out if what you want to sell is selling online. You need to go into this venture with your eyes open. If no one else is selling the products or service you are going to offer then probably no-one is making any money from it and stay away from it...

Now online business is more and more universal , you can share exprience from successful people. Then ,you should make a study on which products the people in your hometown require most in their everyday life and can affordable.
