Do online retail companies such as cabela's & bass pro shop (outdoorgear fishing and hunting) have everything in stock in warehouses or do they have virtual inventories.

Do you have your store yet?

I can give you some pointers in the right general direction, but you really need to have your store ready ... or really close ... before you need to set up drop ship accounts.

'Course that could depend on where in the world you're located ...

I'm in the same boat. I'm trying to find out what the drop-ship opportunities are before I invest a bunch of time developing my site. Where can I find information on how to get started?

Virtual inventory is better in my opinion. Actuall this will influence on the terms of delivery, but it`s much more easy, no headache with storing. The fact is that you`ll need to have several sources where to get those goods and to be in touch with their stock info.

    http://www.findadropshipper.com/

Here are a couple I used.

The first has been very successful for us. I originally balked at sending some guy I never met nearly $70. But once we got into the system we were pleasantly surprised. There are so many drop shippers in that one resourse, we have not even been able to look at them all.

Don't get me wrong. This is not a magic cure for anything. But if you can't find a drop shipper for SOMETHING you want to sell, I'd be shocked.

THe second link is not nearly as effective IMO, but I use it mainly for ideas.
