Drop ship companies
Hello,
I want to start an online store. I am a beginner at Ebusiness but I have been searching and processing lots of information somehow connected to the subject. I don’t want to take much time from you but I really need your experienced opinion to the following:
Do I stand any chance to set up account with a Drop Ship company if I am not a citizen of Us?
Because even having a Non Us Merchant Account I guess my offer will not instill confidence.
I am afraid that people will not have a desire to make a deal with somebody living outside Us.
In addition, in my case communication through e-mail seems to be the only means to get in touch with both Distributors and Customers.
I would appreciate all opinions.
Thank you,
Anton

Why do you insist of buying from the US? Or are you thinking of selling to US market?
I do not think you can successfuly open a US store and sell to US market without being in the US. Dropshippers do worry about not getting paid. Non-US credit card payment is just too dangerous. On the other hand wire transfers are too expensive for both sides.

I’m very grateful for your replies. I might’ve been a bit ambiguous with my question. Presently, I’m living in Ukraine. It’s impossible to start ecommerce in here or at least to make any reasonable money. That’s why I’m aimed at US market. Personally I don’t see any big difference in who’s running an online store. It’s possible today to get US BANK ACCOUNT for non-US Citizens. To find an international merchant account is not a problem as well, at least there’re many companies offering such services. I worked out that a real problem would be finding real drop shippers. Do I look too naive thinking like this?
Thanks in advance,
Anton

My guess is that even with a US bank account, you'll likely be asked to pay for everything up front. Unfortunately, Eastern Europe has become a hub for online fraud, so that's why very few businesses deal overseas. I have a friend who runs an online store and she won't sell outside the US and Canda because fraud has become so rampant online. Anyway, you're going to find it very difficult for anyone to take you seriously or do business with you because of the reputation that area of the world has developed the past few years, which is sad.

You have a big time problem. Credit card fraud is huge outside the USA. Unless you take the risk of credit card fraud NO ONE WILL DEAL WITH YOU.
Visit www.jelessycollection.com I have a drop ship supplier by I TAKE ALL THE CREDIT CARD FRAUD risk.
My sight is a success.

me too!
I too wish to sell as a drop shipper from the UK I wish too to sell items sent out from the USA only because the $ is very low compared to the £
Right now I sell beds and bedding through maplespringbeds.com and through my ebay shop in ebay.co.uk
I would ideally love to sell games etc as they are obviously easy to ship
any ideaS?

Most games are made in Asia and what you want to become is an etailer. Contact the major game companies and see if you can get a license to sell on line.
The difficulty becomes that mass production and distribution centers out of Asia can not ship directly to consumers because they are not equipped to do that.
The result is you will need to buy from UK based distributors and the margins will thin and the competition fierce. I am trying to add accessories to www.jelessycollection.com
Best,
Fred

Jelessy, I think it would help a lot of people if you could tell everyone how you got hooked up with a company that drop ships. Doing a search online seem fruitless and most links seem to lead to sites SELLING information on drop ship companies.

I am working on two new huge lines to become a B2B eCommerce site. One will be exclusive for free standing eCommerce and the other will not. All of my opportunities for drop ship suppliers has been obtained through friends. I have never attempted a cold call on any company.

Excellent list of drop shippers
Hi
I have had the same problem in looking for dop shippers who do not have membership fees and monthly on-going fees. There are all form USA, UK, Australia, Asia and most parts of the world. They do worldide drop shipping.
I found this website http://www.interdropship.com/ via google and it seems to have a good selection of drop shippers with no fees and they constantly update them.
They offer a lifetime membership for only $US2.95 and you have access to their list and you can even have your own favourite listing. Not bad for 2.95 I was impressed
Once you get into their system you are in for good.

Tafadzwa, are you buying at near wholesale prices from these drop shippers? May we see you site that you are selling from?

I am still new to it but they seem to have a good list of drop shippers but you might know better off where to refer me to as you have been in the game for a long time. I've sold some stuff on ebay and planning to make it full time and open a web store. I will give you my web site which I am still in the process of pushing the web master to finish off. First I'm going to start in software then more into digital cameras, it is http://www.tapera.biz.
The choices we all make guide us and I think this web site works for me and their list is growing everyday. If it doesn't work for you, you always look around.

Tafadzwa,
Thank you for the look at your website being developed. This is a question for all. I am looking to add to my offering of designer jeans, jackets and blazers. I am looking for appropriate fashion accessories for women including belts, handbags, shoes and I already have a jewelry line. These collections should fit into the brand image of Jelessycollection.com and support it.
Thanks, this is an excellent site.
