Unpleasant advertising

I've got a rather unique problem, i am wondering if any body has any suggestions to help me solve it.

i have a very small site called watts trading, now when you put me into google as watts trading i am amazingly at the top, but if you look to the right in the paid adverts there are things like

If you cant believe my bad luck take a look, now ive contacted Google with a and i believe a fair enough complaint also ive contacted the site holder, nether has written back. I know the adverts are not meant for us, but to be at the top with such negative, even subliminal messages im very distressed.

has any one got a good idea to help me.

Bit of an update i have received a reply from the guy who owns the site and he cant see the problem.

This seems to be more of a Business question than anything else. Your name has been associated with another business/product that is overtly risky. It is not uncommon and (unfortunately) not a whole lot you can do - the downside of the web.

The only way I see is to differentiate your site from the bad 'thing'. Change around you Page Titles to point out that you are a company and not a program. Of course, by doing this, your organic rankings will move around some - bit of a Catch 22 but the best I could think of at the moment.

Of course you are #1 if you put your site name in Google but that's usually not the way new visitors will find you. Research a unique title tag that captures the key phrase for which you want to be optimized. Just don't use watts trading in your title.

I don't see a description tag in your header and besides your title, it's the second most important tag.

Can you get free legal advice in the States? That headline is damaging to your business, I'm sure any solicitor worth their salt could get it removed or start a claim for damages.

Thanks roban ill have my web guy look into it, im just not that savvy when it comes to web optimisation. believe it or not when we first went live even if you typed watts trading we still weren't at the top, not even on the first page.

You can always trademark "Watts Trading", if you do this then nobody can use the term in their google advertisement.

Of course they can always go with Watts-Trading, WattsTrading. But that's how competition works. Actually, you should be flattered that your business is important enough for these companies to be paying pay-per-click to steal your business.
