Fire Me but I'm Posting This

I received this from my daughter in LA.

If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents from Kansas, you're 'exotic, different.'
Grow up in Alaska eating moose burgers, you are a typical American.
If your name is Barack you must be a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.
Name your kids Bristol, Willow, Piper, Trig and Track, you're a maverick.

Graduate from Harvard Law School and you are suspect.
Attend 4 different small colleges (one twice) before graduating, you're well grounded.
If you become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, pass up a
big paycheck to spend 3 years as a community organizer helping the
downtrodden, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters,
spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor at the
University of Chicago, spend 8 years as a State Senator of a major state
representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state
Senate's Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States
Senate representing a state of 13 million people while serving on the Foreign
Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees,
launch a successful campaign to win your party's presidential nomination
from a famous insider and set records for attracting crowds and raising record funds
from small donors, you are lacking in leadership experience.

If your total resume is: state beauty pageant runner up, local TV weather
girl and sports reporter, 4 years on the city council and
6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 10,000 people, 20 months as the
governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you're qualified to
become the country's second highest ranking executive.

If you have been married once, to the same woman for 19
years, who graduated Harvard Law School then gave up a position in a
prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave
that up to raise your two precious daughters, your family values don't
    represent America's.

If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and
abruptly left your disfigured wife and kids and married the heiress the
next month, you represent American family values.

If you advocate teaching responsible, age appropriate sex
education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding
the fiber of society. If, while serving as mayor your town is the only one in
the state that charges rape victims for the rape test kit police use to
collect evidence, and while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only,
despite the fact it leads to more oral sex and spread of venereal diseases,
and your 17-year old daughter gets pregnant out of wedlock, you're very
    responsible.

If you advocate health care for the poor, you're a subversive un-American.
If you recorded a message supporting your husband's political party that calls for Alaska to secede from the United States, and whose leader preaches hatred against the U.S. Government, then you’re a real patriot.

When did our country's "family values" become so skewed? When did my view of America become so alien to the population outside of our major metropolitan areas? If this was 1929 we would have sunk into a worldwide depression today. We need a total change of leadership and spirit in our country

    just a theory

I was wondering the other day why a seasoned politician like McCain would pick somebody like Palin.. he's a crafty old fox, I said to myself, why would he shoot himself in the foot that way? Then, I had an aha moment..

What if, he chose her because he knew her run on the ticket would be temporary?

Here's my theory: McCain knows the majority of women are leaning toward Obama because Oprah and Hillary are on that side.

So McCain picks a woman to be his second, and women start thinking of voting for him now, because wow, he IS progressive, and it might open a door to a female in the President's seat at the White House.. McCain looks good and gets some of the female vote..

But then some career ending news is "leaked" about Palin, and she makes the decision to resign her candidacy because of it.. McCain comes out and talks about how disappointed he is at this outcome but he accepts her resignation from the ticket..

He then quickly picks a male candidate... In the end McCain comes out looking progressive and sympathetic..

That's my theory.. kinda convoluted, but I can see it happening..
