Ok, I now own an affiliate site www.mytoptravel.com. Any suggestions on how to market? What about purchasing traffic. I had a reccomendation on purchasing from supremehits.net?

Well, I don't see that Supremehits will do anything for you that you cannot do yourself with some time. Submit the sites to the free directories (don't pay for inclusion). Make sure that the site is user and SEO friendly. Write some travel blogs and link them to your site. Get some quality backlinks etc....... Be cognizant of the fact that you have chosed a really glutted market...there are too many travel sites out there to mention, so your share may not be really big unless you can make yourself unique.

First, write good content for your site. If you can't do that, hire it done so you look interesting and professional. Basically you need to give Google keywords to index and drive traffic to. Maybe pick a nitch desitination and get articles about what to see, where to stay, what to eat, ect. Then build backlinks. Social bookmarking, sponsored blog articles, and forum backlinks are probably the best low-hanging fruit. Free directory listings are about the most useless of the free things you can do.

Just can state my personal opinion: Social bookmarking is wasted time for the user. I tried some services in the past and no one was really useful to me, so I skipped using them.

But I'm eager to hear other opinions.

Social sites are not worth the time. The results are minimal for the amount of time and energy you have to put in. Sure, it can work with the right approach but it is very difficult to track performance. I have a hard time exerting time, energy, and money on programs that cannot prove performance. I'm a penny-pincher like that.
