    Help with bookkeeping

I'm starting a small graphic design business and I'm curious to see what accounting software I should be using to help maintain my books. I'm not very good with finance so I need some help.

My friend recommended that I use Quickbooks and Profitcents. Quickbooks for the actual account management and Profitcents for the automated financial analysis - I guess they work together.

    Does anyone have a recommendation?

Don't use Quickbooks - they will nickel and dime you to death except their idea of a nickel and dime is a hundred dollar bill. Their base package isn't very functional so you'll have to upgrade only to find out you still don't have all the functionality you'll need so you'll have to upgrade again - by the time your done, you're into QB for a lot of money!

Keep looking for another accounting package.

    Good luck...
