Apart from SEO, what else can i do?

I am trying and seeking all possible ways to promote my site and also found a company doing seo for site Trade.Meritline, but now can not just rest. So what other ways except SEO can be used to promote a site online. Thanks in advance.

You are correct in asking this question. Any store owner whether it be a brick and mortar or a click and mortar shop should realize that after hiring an SEO company they should continue their own marketing efforts.

Think of yourself as a store in your home town on Main Street. What would you do to promote yourself? Run specials, advertise in the local paper, write press releases, join local merchant groups and promote your business?

roban is right, you can still bring local customers to your site by advertising in newspapers, flyers, run ads, etc, have business cards and distribute them, put the business cards or a flyer in the box for shipment to a customer so they have something to keep.

you could do PPC advertising, you could upload you products to google or other large shoping sites that allow that, the best way is to pay for advertising , free donst work too well. do some searching around for places for you to advertise, directories, large shopping sites, ebay, amazon, etc

Upload your product catalog to GoogleBase (froogle). It is Google's free comparison shopping site. Also use Amazon - they require a commission fee on all sales but that's better/safer than a CPC model than can rack up large spend without sales.

Use emails to retain customers and make profit with repeat customers. Emails are rather cheap and conversion ratios tend to be higher than other avenues.

Get involved with your industry's forum chat. Make a name for yourself, slowly build trust, and people will slowly visit.

Finally, try your hand in SEM.

Ours is a very small niche company and so we do all our own advertising and such. This website is great for those wanting to do their own. A small donation is asked but not required. Http://www.selfpromotion.com

I use a great email marketing service called My Emma. They are affordable and very flexible when it comes to designing your own templates. No cookie cutter work here, here is the link:

SEO is a single module to increase your visibility online. You can perform paid campaigns, advertisements and email marketing can be beneficial as well. No doubt these all are some what relevant to SEO but independently these all sectors have a vast dept within.

Pay per click can be very effective. If you're unsure just start with very small bids on your clicks so that you don't have to worry about racking up large bids.

it depends what you mean by e-mail marketing.if you mean just sending out unsolicited e-mails, otherwise known as spamming, it could hurt more than help. For example, speaking only for myself, any company that sends me unsolicited e-mail advertising would never see any business from me. It wouldn't matter if they had the greatest deal on the planet for something I needed desperately, I would refuse to do business with them simply because they spam.
