Improvements for AlienAmerican.com
Just Starting out. Never made a web site before. Please suggest Improvements for AlienAmerican.com

I'm not sure what the sites purpose is. There doesn't seem to be much content and I have no idea what you're trying to say with it

I'm also not really sure about the contents, seems not to be a small business website ;-) Anyway, you asked for a review, so here are my thoughts:
1. The layout is terribly structured. When opening your website, the user will just see a big ad banner and some headlines - but no contents.
You should remove the ad banner and instead of decide for a vertical ad bar on the right side as well as one at the bottom (depending upon the length, you could place a horizontal ad bar somewhere in the middle, but too many ads makes people to leave your site, so don't exaggerate it).
The "Alien American" logo also must get smaller, the buttons "Home" and "Contents" should be removed and integrated into the top menu bar below.
2. On the home page I miss an introduction and a summarization of what your sites wants to say (we are still guessing ;-)
This is also important for search engine optimization.
3. If you ask for donations, don't use the default PayPal button, customize it to fit into your site's layout. Otherwise it stands out too much. I also think that one donate button per page placed at a prominent location is sufficient.
4. Your blog should be integrated into your site's layout.
5. You miss an imprint (note that this may be required for legal reasons, a contact form is not sufficient).
6. Your articles are lacking of a good structured layout. Especially the large pictures in one disturbs (an oversized white backgrounded image on a black page really screams).
7. Some of your links are pointing to outside locations; so it is good practice to add a note after the link that people are going to leave your website now and/or that it opens in a new window.
8. You have no meta tags overall (keywords, description), the title of your website should include your site's name as well, not just the page's contents (e.g. "My company Ltd. - Serious Stuff").
I hope you find my review helpful to improve your site (whatever it's dedicated for ;-)
