It's an interesting website and at first glance I don't see that there is much need for improvement.

Just to note that your site lacks of meta tags "keywords" and your main homepage http://www.meritline.com has neither "description" nor "keywords".

While I find the scrolling "popular products" box nicely done, it scrolls too fast for me and also may get better formatted... maybe even showing a product image ?

I would remove the box "latest members", since I don't see a real use there. People may always look for brand names or products first and not for the (unknown) manufacturer. Instead of, enlarge the product box as noted above.

I've just had a look at your website and, personally, I think it looks great:

I like the colour scheme - it's very simplistic, and is not distracting

The main page is well layed out, and not cluttered - everything is easily accessible.

I think the Browse all Categories drop down menu, in the product directory, is a nice touch too.

The first thing I noticed was that there is Nothing on the front page telling me what the site is about. If you hadn't mentioned it in your post, I would have had no idea.
