Question Anything jump out at you as Baaaad?

I only have one product, and a website devoted to selling it online using PayPal. No budget for advertising so I go about the 'net placing free classifieds, etc., and trying to find creative ways to "get the word out" that my product exists. No budget, as I'm disabled and living within my means now. I've sold some, less than 20, and have had no complaints. Is an aging comments board with no comments better than no comments board at all? I'm not really interested in creating a mailing list because I only have one product so there will be no news to tell customers and I'm kind of hooked on the idea of a clean sale, with nobody "spamming" them after the sale.

Anyway, folks, I'm wondering if there is anything horrible about my site that would turn off a potential buyer?

Thanks for any feedback whenever you get some time.

its a bit old school looking, since you made it yourself, i assume you know your way around some html. what i would suggest is to find a nice modern free template and use that one. you want it freindly and inviting. I would worry too much about not having comments, your right, some people may not beleive that they are authentic.

thanks for the feedback skytop. this isn't my only website, but i guess i have been kind of delinquent in the design of this one, my most important and only commercial one. i used templates for the others, but i was thinking that the simplest would be the best for this one, kind of see-through, but now that i have spent a bunch of hours seeking out a new design, i can see how boring and lame the "old school" look has gotten. probably doesn't give off what i was shooting for at all.

your welcome, yes, a template dosnt necessarily mean it has to be fancy and filled with images and such, there are some nice simple templates out there that are up to date and show that you are professional, people do judge if they are going to purchase by the look of the site

It's definitely a vast improvement over the initial, but you still need to work on it. The words should be centered in your graphic at the top left, likewise the navigation on the right should be centered in the blue space, instead of bleeding over into the green. Those are the first two things that jumped out at me. But it's already a 200% improvement over the first attempt.

I don't see the problems that JPnyc is talking about. I do really like the new design.

skytopdesigns, thanks for the kick in the butt. throw it all out and get a nice template indeed. i'm having a lot of fun with it again and even enjoy working on it again. you were right on and i thank you for your invaluable feedback. it took me this long to thank you only because as a sole proprieter i'm back in that working on my business till my eyes bleed mode again, and i don't mind a bit.

JPnyc, I'm hoping you caught the page in transition. i'm working on it all the time behind the scenes and sometimes people on this board (since nobody else knows it's there) may catch it in the middle of changes. Is it okay now? if not, what browser/resolution are you using? thanks for the positive feedback too

JEccles, I'm not able to see the probs either, i think it was transitory. thanks for the complement. i only invested about 7 hours tracking down the great template, allbeautydirectory.com did the real work on it, i'm just filling in the blanks and enjoying the fun part
