    one-way backlinks

Is it advisible to use a PAID service to generate relevant one-way backlinks if I am able to select the links from a list I am presented within my category?

IMHO it is never advisable to pay for something that you can do yourself for free. Google your key words and visit the sites that are returned. If they have a links or resources page, contact the web master. Set aside an hour a week to do this and in a month you'll have saved all that money.

I basically agree with the opinion above, but need to say that purchasing links may ease the link building and extend the possibilities in many cases. If the sites are relevant to your certain topic I see no reason which may hindern your purchasing text links if you may afford it. I think the point is to use varied anchor texts.

It depends upon the quality of these websites... so there is some research from your side required and I doubt that it is worth the money spend.

Save the money and better invest it into some serious marketing or simply by improving the quality of your own website (more contents focussed to your customers, write a blog, open a discussion board, ...).

There are many SEO options available that cost you nothing and are far more efficient. Just take some time and efforts of your own...

If you have lots of budget for paid links then its ok as long as google doesn't know about your paid links.

I assume you mean paying someone to build links for you, not necessarily paying for links (text link broker or other arrangement).

I'm sorry, but one hour per week is not going to cut it for building links, and if you don't know what you're doing the time will be wasted. You can't just email webmasters and ask for link exchanges anymore.

Link building is a subset of SEO that requires a professional who knows what they are doing, does ethical work and knows what links are valuable vs. useless. These people are hard to find outside of SEO firms that charge SEO firm fees. I have a friend who's tested out many different link builder services and been disappointed with them all! If you can't afford professional SEO services, you can put in your own time and learn the latest techniques. I suggest you checkout SEOmoz and Search Engine Land, and check out their link building articles to bring you up to speed.

Link building for ecommerce is even more complicated because it's harder to get links to product pages, and "deep links" (non-home page) links are what tell search engines your whole site is authoritative.

    Hope that helps.

    Backlinks

    Unfortunately, Linda is correct.

Link building requires an expert (or a lot of time, effort and study).

Buying links is ok if you buy valuable clean text links from sites that will provide you with related traffic.

As more and more sites begin using nofollow tags on their links (even paid links) the value of good links will go up. It is important you understand how to acquire these links yourself so you can find someone to do it for you properly (if you can't spend your own time).

It is certainly not advisable but it could be practiced. Google now has tough stance over "paid links". IMO is it worth spending money over these links? What is your niche? highly profitable?

Natural linking is what "real SEO" is about.

    Thankyou

"Natural linking is what "real SEO" is about. "

This one really made me laugh. By Natural linking you are referring to links that people willingly give your site because it's informative. The entire purpose of SEO is to artificially improve your search engine ranking better than what it "naturally" would be. In reality, all SEO techniques go against google and are unnatural.

Natural linking doesn't requrie any SEO because as the phrase implies they are "natural" links. I.e. people willingly linking to quality content which has nothing to do with SEO.

Linking or making content for search engines and not humans is against googles guidelines. In an ideal world we wouldn't have to do SEO, but the fact that your competition is doing it means that if you want to outrank them you have to do it.

I recently used a site called get1waylinks.com, and they did a pretty good job with my site.

It was money well spent for me, but they are on the expensive side though, if you can find a way to build links on your own, I would suggest trying that first before paying anyone.

You can also try placing comments on high PR blogs for extra backlinks. Just make sure they are in your niche.
