    Wireless Credit Card Transactions

Does anyone know of a wireless mechant transaction solution. I am probaly going to use Authorize.net for all on-line transactions. They referred me to Aircharge, they charge $500 for the unit(card swipe & receipt) which works through bluetooth via my phone. I was just wondering if there was anything cheaper out there. I will be setting up a booth at events, I dont want to accesss my website through my phone and process thier order that way. I think it is a bit tacky. I guess I could hook up a laptop and get it to connect to the internet and process the order that way and print the reciept for them.

    Thanks.

I'm not sure if it is comparable with your area (USA vs. Germany), but we found that for our purpose a "virtual terminal" is the best and most cost-effective solution.

This is a piece of software (or in our case a web-based service), where you process credit card payments, banking transfers, etc.. Very convenient, like home banking ;-)

If I remember correctly, we paid about 80 Euro ($120 USD) for getting up and running (we already had contracts with credit card processors). There is a monthly charge of 10 Euro and a per transaction fee of 30 cent.

I guess that in the "homeland" of credit cards a comparable solution should be available. Anyway, $500 appears too much for me.
