    What else is there?!?

I purchased Everest software at the beginning of this year off of the recommendation of someone through this forum. The research I did led me to believe I was making the right decision. Now I've sunk $40k + into this product and I'm disgusted with it.

1.) The customer service is horrible.

2.) The functionality of the software is no where NEAR $40k. I find it hard to believe Quickbooks which costs THOUSANDS less has more functionality.

3.) A function of the program - BAM (Business Activity Monitoring) - hasn't worked for 3 solid months now, and no one will even get back to me regarding my incident. If they do, they "assume" they've fixed it, close my incident and the next day, it doesn't work.

From what I see online at interprise suite, it seems like a much better piece of software, and it won't cost me an arm and a leg. Does anyone have any experience they can shed on that company (preferrably the newest version)?

$40.000 USD ? Much money... I wished I had such clients willing to spend this amount for an Internet business solution :-)

Have you made progress with this company ? What do they state regarding the problems (it can't be a good business practice of them just closing support tickets) ?

Everest never fixed the problem. Instead my reseller and his buddy had to make a bandaid solution. By downloading a program that automatically cleared out a cache that just sat in the program. Still no contact from them since I last heard from them 4 weeks ago.

They have the worst customer service I've ever experienced to date.

    I'm sorry to hear that.

Have you found an alternative in the meantime or are you working with their solution ?

It's a shame that business owners have to go through something like that.

It's a shame, especially considering that there are fullly featured, mature, open source products that fit the bill. I have a product in mind - xTuple ERP. It comes in several versions, but the basic PostBooks version is free of charge for as many users as you want. Think QuickBooks Enterprise on steroids. (There are even utilities available to pull data in from QuickBooks!) If you find that xTuple works for you, then you can sign up for a support contract. If it doesn't, then OpenMFG (the company behind xTuple) would be happy to work with you on a commercial version with more features.

xTuple appears to be a no-nonsense company with no-nonsense policies. They publish all pricing on their website so that you know ahead of time how much you'll be spending on licensing.

As a plus, xTuple ERP runs on Mac and Linux as well as Windows.

    Cheers,
    -Josh
