    e-commrce/shopping cart plug-in for dreamweaver

    Hello,

I am rebuilding my site and want to make my shopping cart look more professional (now I use PayPal buttons).

As webdesign program I use dreamweaver.
Is there a plug-in software I can use for this program. What I am after is a way around making separate pages/sections for each item I want to sell, more like a web based program where I can fill in info/photo/price etc and it automatically makes it to html code.

As you can read on my text I am not very used to this so I hope you understand what I am trying to say

    Have a nice day,
    Helen

There is an ecommerce extension for Deamweaver called NetStores and another called ecart. I have never used either one.

You may be at the point you need to start to think about an ecommerce package. I have used Actinic for years and found it very good - especially from a search engine point of view. There is a 30 day free trial you can download from their website. If you want somthing free then there is always OS Commerce. These are not Dreamweaver extensions but may be worth a look if you have a growing business.

I'm not sure about Dreamweaver overall, have it tested years ago and was a bit disappointed about its results.

If you are looking for something new and have an Apple Macintosh at hand, I can recommend Softpress' Freeway Pro solution, see http://www.softpress.com .

We are using it for years now and do nearly 80 % of all website designs with them. It is more DTP-like than a common HTML editor, needs some time to get familiar with, but then it is unbeatable.

Also it comes with an integrated shopping cart service plugin. So maybe this is worth a look if you ar going to spend money.
