    Verisign VS. Authorize.net

Verisign VS. Authorize.net regarding ecommerce websites.
SSL, merchant controls (AVS, CVV, fraud detection, etc.).

    What is your choice?

Authorize.Net. It does everything Verisign does yet is cheaper and easier to work with.

Actually Verisign will offer you SSL certificates but nothing in payment processing. The gateway (Payflow) was bought by Paypal. And Authorize.net was bought by the electronic payment gateway Cybersource.

Payflow offers quite a bit and it charges for them fortunately. LinkPoint offers some thing on the backend but does not charge for anything - hopefully that will change next year though.

We currently us Verisign for my employers site. I'm going to be using Aurthorize.net for my personal site, when it goes live. I have not been happy with Verisign since Paypal took over. Trying to find an answer to a question or even a phone number to call is impossible. And their rates seem to be outrageous.

Whatever your choice just stay away from CARD SERVICE INTERNATIONAL. Get a *REAL* merchant account with your LOCAL bank.

No problem. If just selling online then do not let PayPal or Google Checkout scare you. They are the quick-easy way to start accepting CCs online.

But again, your local bank is the place to go. But you will need to have a Corp or at least a DBA so they can setup your account. You can get a Tax ID from the IRS on their website quickly and easily.

    Good luck.

Not sure what the question is -- my username is just to be ironic. Since I do not like drop shipping it was fun for me to have a username that is dropship... Does that answer the question?
