Who should I choose

Okay, I am trying to decide between these carts/stores. I will be selling sporting clothing/supplies. X-Cart, CS cart, Zen & Volusion.

Any opinions would be great.

CS-Cart is developed by the same folks who developed X-Cart. Much friendlier folks and I have heard negatives about the X-cart forums. Zen should not even be on your list because it's not easy to customize and as a free cart should be in a category with OSC or Cube Cart version 3. I have heard good things about Volusion but have no experience with it.

cs-cart, cs-cart.

i agree with roban. i use cs cart and i am very happy with it, i dont use the ones that have a montley fee, but i can do my own customization and hosting. but cs cart is a one time fee, the support is great and i havent had any problems with it. i usually encourage my customers to spend some money on a paid cart, i have had many people come to me with thier free carts for help and end up spending more money having me set it up than if they bought a cart. usually the free ones are harder to set up. i worked on a zen cart and i found it very difficult to figure out. cs cart is very straign forward and simple.

I have finished 3 stores using Volusion and could not be happier.

Okay I just purchased CS Cart($355.00..ouch..but not really that much considering I was gonna spend 3k on a yahoo store deigner) with the extended tech support. I hope I made a good choice. I tried to do as much research as possible over the last week. I guess now I will have to find hosting.
