Wink Another help me choose a Shopping cart...

I will be adding a shopping cart to a front-end heavy flash site with only about 10 products and around 100 skus (colors, sizes). I don't want the cart to manage my item images, only include an 'add to cart' button next to the product.

I do need the cart to have inventory control, no monthly fees (buy the license), and be able to be hosted on my site. I was going to use PayPal as my payment gateway.

I really like Avactis, but they seem to be really new, with not alot of feedback. I have also looked into Miva, X-Cart, Cart32, and Digishop.

Any other suggestions? Do I have the right approach?

    Thanks in advance

Since you've chosen the title for this thread, you may be expecting some of the answers you're going to get.

Many people have wanted to have a cart system serve their own custom front-end and most have ended up using the cart system AS their front-end. Most systems are either php or asp and as such will not be easy to customize or integrate. I have extensively worked with Cbe Cart and CS-Cart (my shop of choice)and I have tried to do exactly as you are suggesting. In both cases I opted for a customized version of the original cart.

Your approach can work only in case the properties (colors, etc) dont change the product price.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, all sizes and colors per item will be the same price.

CS-Cart looks to be added to the list also.

I think you can use almost any cart by imitating thier add to cart function ( you probably will need to add the product in admin panel also )

CS-Cart is excellent, and we use a heavly modified bersion of it as our basic cart.

    Highly recommended.
