If you want to find a book, or cd/dvd wholesaler, what resources do you have to research it?

Often the best suppliers either wholesale or dropship are not easy to find.

One method that I have used in the past to source products with moderate success is to search for terms that typically only a wholesaler would have. For example a search in google using the terms "we do not sell to the public" or "tax id required" along with your search term may provide better results than simply searching for the term itself.

It is an ongoing problem that legitimate dropship wholesalers do not appear as often as they'd like in the first listings for the major keywords. The cost of advertising using keywords like wholesale, dropship, etc..are outrageously high, and a decision has to be made not to pay for the positioning so that the products can be offered to the reseller at a reasonable price for retail markup.

Usually, the legitimate wholesalers do appear in the major directories, it's just that there is so much information there to go through to get to them, and you can end up discouraged in the process. A quick visit to the website of the wholesaler should help you determine if you're going in the right direction.
You should be able to see part or all of the inventory, a FAQ section that answers most of your basic questions, and contact information so that you can reach a real "live" person!

As a former book publisher, I would think the list of major book distributers (which is what these people are called within publishing industry) is pretty limited:

Ingram
Baker and Taylor (I think)
Publishers Group West (aka PGW)
Independent Publishers Group (whom I used)

and so on.

I'm not sure if the big guys (Ingram and Baker and Taylor) do only books or also music. Sorry.

Yes....i am familiar with Ingram has having a large book selection and it is a large and legit program.
