Question An eccommerce solution with custom fields?

    Hi -
I'm in the market for a ecommerce solution that allows me to add custom fields for additional product information. For example, I would like to be able to have a UPC code field, a release date field, a movie rating field, etc...
that would display on my product pages.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    ecommerce with custom fields

Yes, check out Paysimple and go to online payments. I currently use and it allows for custom fields on your payment page that directly feed into the back end transaction information. You can add anything you like...shoe size, color, quantity, rating, or whatever you can think of. And it will integrate with most shopping carts if you currently use one. Great service, too.

If you use osCommerce there is a contribution called Product Extra Fields that will accomplish exactly what you are describing. I have used it in the past and it works well. I believe that x-cart also has a similar feature.

KonaKart provides custom attributes for all of the major entities (products, orders, customers, manufacturers etc.). You can set them through the Admin App and view them on the JSP pages by doing some minor customizations.

    Re: ecommerce w/custom fields

Are you looking for just a shopping cart service or an actual back-end system for processing a payment? PaySimple is not a shopping cart in itself, but will integrate with them. The custom fields are available for the payment page for your website. They host the page and the fields feed into a back-end system that processes the payment, has reporting to include custom fields, etc. And if you don't have a merchant account yet, they can set that up for you.
