open web-store
Hello everyone! I need to open an international web-store, the main requirements that it should support Euro currency and the French language.. What services or software could you recommend me? Thanks in advance.

For starters, check out E4X.com which allows your global customers to browse through your online catalogue and purchase in their local currency while you receive payment in the currency of your choice.
Also, Xenon Laboratories' Universal Currency Converter can be added to your site through a simple javascript which can be found at http://www.xe.net/ucc/customize.htm.
Also, myCustoms.com and Global CommerceZone are a couple more companies that offer calculation and customs documentation as part of their service.

Thanks for the link, Gary. Their software is for professionals, and I do not know any single html tag I'm searching for something with a bit more friendly interface.. Thanks again.

I'm testing the beta version of fortune3 shopping cart and ecommerce software 4.0. This version allows full customization of the web store, including currencies, store catalog, shopping cart, check out, etc, all messages can be set in other languages than english.

You might want to checkout a product called Everest by Icode. Small Business Computing did an article on it (cut and paste link below)
http://www.smallbusinesscomputing.co...le.php/1587271
The product is a mini ERP package for the small business with an impressive E-Commerce capability. You can either host the webserver at your business or have your ISP host it. The biggest benefit to a small business owner, is it integrates E-Commerce, with backend systems, sales, shipping, inventory, CRM, etc. giving you a real-time look at information as opposed to separate products for separate functions
As far as languages:
The software supports numerous languages (German, French, Italian, Spanish) and with a click of the button users can switch between languages so all menus, screens, etc. are in the chosen language (including the E-commerce capabilities).
As far as multi-currency:
The product is geared to handle multi-currency transactions. You can purchase or sell in any currency.
I know you are thinking about E-Commerce, but as a business consultant/owner I offer this advice: Whatever the solution, think about the potential impact of getting a system which is not integrated your your other systems (rekeying orders from website, etc.).
Hope this helps.... Good Luck!! If you have any questions, feel free to let me know.

osCommerce Rules
Clearly, OsCommerce is second to none.
I have been working with the software for only 5 weeks, and have been able to make advanced customizations, integrate real-time shipping modules, integrate real-time credit card processing, multi-langual support, multi-currency support.
This software is amazing. Best of all it is open source.

I have hosted my site on http://b2bparadise.com, our site uses only a fraction of the features they offer, it is a complete e-commerce solution that has a catalog management section (didn;t found this on most ecommerce solutions). I have built my store up and ready in just 2 hours with about 200 items. I didn't required any html, ftp, webdesigning or any other tech know how. Just entered my categories, items, prices and upload images through their interface. Shipping Charge calculation, Sales Tax Calculation, Image Resizing, Reports on Orders received, coupons etc. were the built in features with them
They are charging $24.99 per month alongwith the hosting. Definitely worth a try.
