Recently found that there are talks about legislation to require SEM/SEO agencies to have to file for the same licenses that any other marketing agency has to pay.

Due to nearly every state experiencing budget deficits, the states are reaching for money. It started with New York requiring sales tax be charged on any sale generated from an affiliate in the state citing that the affiliate is a 'business precence' in the state and should therefor be required to collect the sales tax.

Now, states are beginning talks about charging the Interactive Marketing sector for the same licensing fees they have been free from for many years. Granted, this is all hear-say. How far will it go?
