Ok.. So what is the current law.

I am very confused on the ecommecre tax laws. What is the state of them today? I live in ohio and all my customer's nexus' are in ohio too. So I only have to charge sales tax to customers in ohio and not any where else?

Am I missing anything. I see where the law is going .. but what is the state of the tax laws now. What do I need to do not to get sued?

    Hope this helps

It is a very confusing issue and legislation that would allow states to require e-commerce businesses to tax out-of-state transactions is still pending. Basically, states need to drastically simplify and standardize state tax laws before Congress will move; otherwise, it would be a logistical nightmare for e-commerce businesses to figure out how to tax customers from 50 different states. As long as you tax in-state customers you probably aren't breaking any laws. But here are a few articles we did on the topic that may shed a little light.
