Forum signature are associations that are available below the place of duty in the forum. This helps the reader to visit the supplementary site for supplementary details.
-
there is no harm in putting signatures, if its not done for spamming. I feel signatures makes your comments a legitimate one. As i feel they make you more responsible in replying to a thread, you just cant write something which is non relevant.
-
They really think? If I am asked to evaluate the moral, not really, it's spam. This is certainly how I like to look at it and treat it as an administrator / manager of 30 forums on the Internet. Still spamming as a means of advertising is becoming the stamp of the company that makes, which says "disreputable company. Personally, I think the time has come.

Since the forums are very targeted traffic, your sig link will provide good traffic, assuming you leave interesting and relevant forum postings. The point of links is to rank higher to obtain traffic anyways. If used in the thread or page having relevant topic to your site and with relevant keywords as your link anchor text, they will increase your page rank.

SE's give the impression to be looking by the elevation of forums and directories fairly heavy in the earlier period couple of months. Mainly paid links. The links do count I wouldn't construct a business representation out of it.
-
They do, but I've learned rumors that the path they count signatures will change. Instead of 20 links from this forum, entirely of your posts will adequate 1 link.
-
Where did you come by this "rumor"?

SE's appear to be looking at forums as well as directories reasonably heavy in the past couple of months, chiefly paid links.

It likely won't yield the results you want, since I believe you'll find many forums don't appropriate commercial links in signatures. Signature permits on those forums are granted after the user has posted for a while, as well as even then, commercial links would be removed.

While links in forum signatures do play their part in the overall back linking scheme, one should not rely heavily on them to aid your keyword targeting. Your main objective should be to join forums that center around your niche and provide useful information. The more you do so, the more those folks will visit the link in your signature because you have deemed yourself a bit of an authority on the subject at hand.
That isn't to say you can't leave your link in non-niche related forums, but do so sparingly, and at ones where you can leave relevant information - be part of the community - not just a link-dropper and never come back.

Would like to contribute to conversation.
I understand that every link may be considered as spam.
But as for me, if you don't come just for one link - it's not a spam. If you communicate with people, if you're interested in the forum's life - it's not.
Of course, may be it's just a way to calm yourself.
