    SEO Tool

Anyone heard of or used a SEO tool called iBusiness Promoter (IBP). They guarantee a top 10 ranking or your money back. I have always been told it is a rip off if they guarantee a top 10. The tool costs $199.95.

I have used this for years but only for comparisons to relevant sites and for baseline reports. It can certainly help to optimize a site but should not be considered the only tool to use and for sure it cannot fulfill a promise like that. The Alexa component can lead you to relevant sites to link with and the ability to customize reports with your company logo and other replacement texts is a plus.

The price tag does not endear this tool to many and most of the wok it does can be done freely through Google tools and searches if you know what you're doing.

If you are an SEO professional the cost can be written off but for the casual user it can be prohibitive.

Any SEO company or tool that promises or guarantees anything should be taken with a grain of salt.

I would avoid it for the way they are marketing it. As JEccles said, many of these claims of gettinga high result is for a specific search term. You want to rank well with many terms.
It may be difficult with the most common, obvious terms where there may be a lot of competition.
The key when you are starting out is to do well with a variety of less common terms. In, time, focusing on the less popular terms should help the more popular ones. Then you can focus on competing with the big boys.

If you want to rank well, put honest work into link building, blogging and optimising your site.
