Wishing to know about selling chinese jewelry, clothing, etc in an online store.
Hi all,
I am looking for more information on selling goods online, mainly jewelry and qi paos, a fancy form of dress from china, in an online store. I have a friend wishing to sell these types of items in the U.S, but I am unsure if there is anything that should be taken into consideration before selling an item online. Is there any laws or regulations on the sale of items that have been bought and resold. These items are hand made in China, not under any brandname or specific company. In the past, my friend has bought items from overseas, and has sold them to people who desired them in the U.S. She is looking to expand her customer base by selling them through an online website. Any thoughts, opinions, and considerations for laws and regulations, if any, will be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Handmade is quite an industry and as far as I know there are no specific regulations for international artisans selling their creations online.
We have international sellers (Chinese, too) who opened up a free or custom shop with us. Some sell electronics, some sell handmade jewels and there hasn't been any issue so far.
I hope this helps.

We sell imports from China. As long as they aren't electronics, drugs, firearms, etc, you will be fine. You don't have any specific laws to follow because the imported. You need to look into local tax laws and such.

When importing the items to be resold into the USA, you might want to use a freight broker the first few times to make sure your customs paperwork and tariffs are done right.
