Where do I get stock descriptions and photos for items?

I am close to launching a new e-commerce website.
My question, where should I get the item descriptions and photos that are used for the items on my web site? I currently have an eBay store and have been mostly getting these stock descriptions and photos from either the company that makes the product or either the supplier/distributor that I purchased the product from.
I just want to make sure that there are no legal issues involved or even if there are services or places I can subscribe to to get this information. The products that I will be selling are video games and accessories, audio/video products and accessories, computer accessories, notebook computers, and also we sell a lot of books. Thanks for help with this.

As long as your suppliers are happy for you to reuse their images then you've got no problems there.

You could always invest in a light tent and half-decent camera and take your own images. If you go down this route I'd recommend using image editing software to add a watermark to your own images to prevent others copying them.

Your supplier/distributor should be able to provide you with images that can be used free of charge for the intended purpose.

Hands off from pictures you find on other e-commerce websites...

As everyone else has mentioned, your suppliers should supply the images. Either by allowing you to use the ones on their sites or sending the images to you. As far as descriptions, use the suppliers as a starting point, but do not copy it verbatim. This confuses search engines. Modify or completely rewrite the descriptions that your suppliers use.
