    Remote Office Backup

We have several small remote offices, all with less than a handful of PCs at each site. Due to the location of the sites, they either have dialup internet connections or at best 512/128 or 256/64 ADSL connections. None of the sites have file servers, so all user data is stored on each PC. I've been trying to investigate some way to effectively backup the data at each of the sites. Because of their narrow band internet connections I don't think remote backup will work. Backing up to an external HDD is an option but brings with it management and data security issues. Is there any technology out there that can provide me with a manageable yet secure backup solution?

ya. For something like that, you'd be looking for any of the delta-block backup companies... LiveVault, eVault, VaultLogix, or my favorite budget shop, Mozy. The first backup will ****, but the ongoing data will backup fairly quickly sonce it only send over changes.

Now, without detailed info I can't really give you detailed answers, so if what I said isn't appropriate, then give me more info, and maybe I can help you out a bit better.

    Online backup service with DriveHQ.com

Today a friend who runs a small business asked me about backup service. He was thinking to buy some HP/Dell backup devices costing him around $5000. Then I asked him about offsite backup, he was a little surprised that he needs offsite backup, and he thought it's going to be even more expensive. Holly, I asked him to try DriveHQ Online Backup, which I have used for quite a long time. He liked the service a lot. He was so happy that I have just saved him about $5000! That's cool...

Not sure about what file sizes we are talking about here ?

Remote backup is an alternative since it is the initial backup that will be very large, once done, you can opt for incremental backups which will be quite small in comparison.

Well, you can buy external hard disk drive to back-up you files or tape drives. If you have big files, I guess the best back up is tape drives.

windows home server can back up up to 10 PCs. You can get them off site with one of the employees taking an external media drive offsite. this http://www.high-rely.com/HR3/include...tegoryKey=SATA
or the dell rd 1000 would be good for offsite backup media. could probably get everything done for less than $1500 depending on how much data you have.
