How to Attract Traffic to the Website

    1. Provide your visitors with free content.

Your content will be more attractive to your visitors if it's up-to-date or original. You could also offer people the option to reprint the content in their e-zine or web site.

People are surfing the internet for information and if your website contain information related to their area of interest, they are going to love your sites. So make sure that the information on your site is of relevant and good quality content.

Nowadays, blogging has become very popular as it is the best way to provide free content and keep it up to date. By writing a blog, you can build a community around your blog readers and create a trusting relationship to keep them coming back to your blog for fresh content.

    2. Exchange Links

This is a sure and proven method. Rarely would you see a site where there is no link to another site. Many webmasters are willing to exchange links with one another so that they could produce more public awareness about their sites. You’ll soon see and feel the sudden upsurge of the traffic coming in to your site from other sites.

A major prerequisite in exchanging links with other sites is having the same niche or content as the other site. They should share a common subject so that there is continuity in the providing of service and information to what interests your target traffic.

Exchanging links also boosts your chances of getting a high ranking in search engine results. It is common knowledge that search engines ranks high sites that have inbound and outbound theme-related links. With a good ranking position in the search engines, you will generate more traffic in your website without the high costs.

    3. Write and Submit Articles

There are many e-zines and online encyclopedias in the internet which provides free space for articles to be submitted. If you want to save costs, you can do the articles yourself. There are many freelance writers who are willing to write for you for a small fee, but to save money, it is wise to do those articles yourself.

Write articles that are themed along with the niche of your site. Write something that you have expertise on so that when they read it, they can feel your knowledge about the subject and will be eager to go to your site. Write articles that produce tips and guidelines to the subject or niche your site has.

Include a resource box at the end of your article that can link them to your site. Write a little about yourself and your site. If you provide a light, information-laden and interesting article, they will go to your site for more.

    4. Provide free software.

Software is a great gift as it is often perceived as higher value than ebook or newsletter.

It could be freeware, shareware, demos etc. You could even turn part of your site into a free software directory.

The free software should be related to your area of niche and is able to assist your visitors in some ways. For example, if your website is about weight loss, you can include a weight loss calculator on your website and allow your visitor free use or free download of the software.

If you know how to create software, you can include your links or banners within the software and allow other people to give it away. It is another great way to create viral marketing for your website.

I absolutely agree with your post. I just noticed that upon writing useful articles and submit it to free article directories, my site has been receiving significant increase of traffic.

Articles are time consuming to write, but provide a long slow stream of traffic. Submit to the big sites like ezine and articlesbase and don't waste your time submitting to hundreds of little directories.

    Hey guys,

You covered some great things, but personally I've found that's only the tip of the iceberg. With social media the powerhouse it has grown to be, you need more interaction with customers and leads, and you need to connect with them on new levels. And everywhere you possibly can.

Video is the best way to connect nowadays, and has pretty much replaced article marketing, but article marketing is definitely still viable IF you incorporate it into a more diverse strategy: content syndication.

Here's the 'traffic plan' I'd use if you want to jump-start some major traffic to your site, or attract customers:

    1. Get a blog for your store if you don't have one (as well as an account on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube. More if possible, but those are the main ones)
    2. write 1-2 very high-quality articles on a daily basis (usually no more than 2)
    3. Submit that article to asa many directories as possible
    4. Turn your article into a PDF (you can use a free software called "Cute PDF"... just Google it, should be the first that comes up)
    5. submit the converted article to all 'document sharing' sites (like scribd.com)
    6. Turn your article into a video
    7. submit it to YouTube (also, for video sharing, you need to use either TubeMogul or TrafficGuyser. They will launch your video out to so many other places it's ricidulous, which will get even more exposure for them)
    8. Embed your video on your blog, then copy and paste the corresponding article you wrote underneath that video so you have a new blog post with both video and written content.
    9. Ping your new blog post using a service such as Pingler.com
    10. Update all your social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, etc) with the fact that you just updated your blog and you'd like some comments on it

...Those 10 steps are really all you need, and it should take about 2-3 hours each day, no more. After you do it a few times, you can crank it out even sooner, but that will drive some massive traffic to your site essentially on autopilot.

As far as long term benefits, the accumulation of videos and articles, if they're all good quality, will attract attention and set you up as an expert in your industry, which will tip the ball down the hill and cause people to come to you with or without new daily content.

That's it! I hope someone tries that out, it's deadly effective

    -Tom

To get traffic to your website, you have to have a certain wow factor and provide a service that visitors would want to keep coming back for. You have to have faith in your site and concentrate on optimizing your site to make it search engine friendly.
Stick with it and over time you will reap the rewards of all your hard work

There are many ways to attract the traffic on the sites. If you are new to Internet Marketing or Affiliate Marketing you may be wondering why you aren't making any sales. The main reason is probably because you aren't getting enough traffic to your site.By traffic I mean visitors and without those visitors you aren't going to make any sales at all. So how can you increase your traffic?First of all you have to make sure you have chosen your keywords wisely and submitted your site to all the major search engines.Once you have done that you can concentrate on getting more back-links to your site. A back-link is a link to your website from another site. The best kind of back-link to have is one that has your keywords in the anchor text.
