    Guest Posting Still Worth It?

    Hi,
Been messing around with SEO again lately. I run a small IT thing and figured I?d revisit guest posting. Used to think it was dead but some of the stuff I tried recently actually gave decent results.
Not all sites are worth it though, some are just link farms in disguise.
Anyone here still using guest posts to build links? You doing manual outreach or using platforms

Manual outreach mostly - takes more time, but feels a lot safer than random platforms. Totally agree though, some sites are just junk. I try to stick with ones that actually have a bit of traffic or at least look somewhat legit.

Yes, guest posting is still worth it when done correctly and with a strategic focus. It helps build high-quality backlinks, increases brand visibility and positions you as an authority in your niche. Instead of spamming low quality blogs for links, focus on contributing valuable, well-written content to reputable websites in your industry. This not only improves your SEO and domain authority but also drives targeted traffic to your site. In 2025, guest posting remains a powerful tool for organic growth when combined with genuine relationship building and content relevance.

Yep, guest posting can still work well?if it?s done right.

The key is quality over quantity. You?re spot on?many sites are just glorified link farms. If the site has no real audience, thin content, and exists purely for backlinks, then Google won?t value that link much (and it might even hurt your profile long-term).

Personally, I still use manual outreach for guest posting, but I focus on:

    Niche-relevant sites with actual traffic

Sites with engaged readers (real comments, social shares)

Contributing valuable content?not just dropping a link

Platforms like HARO, Terkel, or even niche-specific communities can also be useful if you're short on time, but manual outreach gives you more control over quality.

It?s definitely more work than it used to be, but for small businesses like ours, a couple of high-quality placements can make a real difference?both for traffic and authority.

Would love to hear how others here are approaching it in 2025!

They can work if you pick the right sites?quality over quantity for sure. I usually do manual outreach because platforms feel kinda spammy and don?t always get good results. It takes more time but feels more genuine.

Still using guest posting here too. I?ve had the best results when I focus on niche-relevant blogs with active readers and solid content. Manual outreach takes time but helps avoid low-quality sites. It?s definitely not dead if you treat it as part of a broader content strategy.

Guest posts with manual outreach - that's how I do it too. You need to pitch good topics and have a great writer (or be one). But guest posting can definitely work well that's the point. Of course, my email inbox is full of spammers offering magical lists of domains for guest posts, but I stay away from that type.
