Our company provides testing services. Our customers ship us materials and we test them and provide data by email. Most of the time small boxes arrive from around the world at our building without any involvement from us.

Occasionally, shipments get stuck in airports or clearing houses and we are asked to sign "power of attorney" forms to get these shipments unstuck.

We are not buying these materials, customers send them to us.

Is it a bad idea for us to sign the power of attorney forms for import clearing?

Do we really need to be involved?

Thank you for any guidance you may have.
