What is Keyword cannibalization?
Google is your friend.
Keyword cannibalization occurs when there are too many same or similar keywords scattered across your website's content. As a result, a search engine like Google is unable to determine which information should be ranked higher. This means that it will sometimes provide a better rating to a web page that you do not intend to priorities.

A simple keyword mapping exercise and ensuring no duplicate titles or content on closely related content should alleviate the problem.
Keyword cannibalization occurs when you use more similar keywords spread throughout the content on your website. This will create doubt for search engines which content to rank higher. This means that sometimes it will give a higher ranking to the web page you don't think to appear on SERP.
